schools out!

today was my last day of finals.

My art class went to the Picasso Museum. We were there for 2 1/2 hours and I saw TWO pieces of Picasso’s art. We did our final presentations in the cafe at the museum and I had to come to my Cinema class directly after the presentations. I was really interested in the first four to five presentations but my attention went to getting in the best position to recieve the most sunlight. Of course I was still listening but then as the presentations went on, the later the presentation the more shy the person, the softer their voice, the less interesting… I tried to pay attention but I was overtaken by sitting in a park in the Picasso Museum on a beautiful day on one of my last days in Paris.

I did my presentatin on Salvador Dali and his hilarious sense of humor… I was laughing while telling the stories of him but my audience seemed to think his paranoia was something to be sad about. I guess they are right. Some would say he was mentally ill, I think he was a comic genius!!

I brought the book of his Interview in Time magazine to show the class. My initial idea was to wear a fake Dali Mustache and bring 25 more so that everyone in the class could wear one during my presentation. I also thought about bringing a pale of milk to stick my foot in while giving my presentation. This is something he was known to do while lecturing at the Sorbonne. I felt it would have been approiate yet a little inappropriate at the same time.

I just finished my Cinema final. It wasn’t too hard. I wanted to buy some of the DVDs we watched in class and bring them back to America to share with everyone but I found out that the DVDs here won’t work in America and they only have French subtitles. so bummer, but maybe I can find them on Amazon.Com

I really can’t believe how fast the time as passed. I am just now getting into the swing of things here and I have to leave! I am not going to lie, I am excited to be back home. But only because I know I am going to be home soon. I do miss everyone! I have some pretty exciting adventures on my plate for the next two weeks. I am going to Budapest and Prague and then Nice if we can find a cheap enough means of getting there. AH!

Well I have to go back to class now, we are watching a movie. All though, techinally, I do not have to be there I still am going to watch it because a) all the movies was have watched have been great and b) out of respect to my teacher!

bisous!

I will comment back on your comments when I have more time….. I didn’t even know I could do that!

Ciao!

Your presentation sounds like it was fantastic - so did you do the dali mustashes or not? If so, I would like to see some pics!

I can’t believe you are already finished. I told you it would go fast. Still looking forward to seeing your french hair cut. Also, did you happen to make any cool purchases so far? clothes? house things? purse? etc? I remember wanting to buy everything when I was there, because it was all so different from what you can buy at Penn Square Mall in OKC..haha.

Enjoy the rest of your days in Europe; keep us posted!

I can’t believe how fast it has gone by as well.

Yesterday is when all of the big sales started around Paris. Ashley and I are going shopping today to pick up some last minute things!

I want to buy EVERYTHING I see but am using so much self control…. but honestly, I really don’t really want to buy anything. I feel a little guilty buying things for myself. I have bought a few things though, nothing big. a friend bought a chole purse, a prada purse, mark jacobs sunglasses, and prada shoes. and bought her dad a 6 dollar shot glass. honestly, thats not my style. the kicker is, she WON’T use them but wants everyone to know how much she paid for it. I asked her if she was going to be one of those grandmothers who puts plastic over her couches, she says only if it was a Prada couch……

we have been giving her a pretty hard time. at least she has a little bit of a sense of humor about it.

YES, the sales!! I was in Paris the entire month of July and the sales were going on the whole time. Every window said “soldes” or something like that; I can’t really remember the word. However, I quickly learned it meant “sale”.

What in the world is that girl going to do with all of those purses??? I did indulge and buy myself some chanel reading glasses when I was in Nice, so I can’t say much. However, I didn’t buy 5 pairs I guess….

I remember finding really cool inexpensive things to wear when I was there though. I found cool jeans, skirts, shoes, etc and I still wear most of it now. There was one crazy store that Wes LOVED!! I can’t remember the name of it, but they played the loudest “club” music you have ever heard. All of the clothes were under $50. Let me set the record straight, the “nicer” clothes were around $50, but most of the items were like $5.00. When we finally went in there for Wes to get some things after walking past it 100 times during our month. I had to go straight in and get in line, because the line was wrapped all around the store. Wes walked through the store just grabbing all kinds of things. He bought soooo many t-shirts and tank tops a few coats and shorts. It was really ridiculous, but I think his total was under $400. So, I guess if Wes is going to go on a shopping spree that is the place for him to be.

Have fun with Tiny! Glad to hear you are going to Nice–Look for the Florida Plague when you get there to lay out at.
