my new french haircut

Here is a video which has footage of my New French Haircut:
after getting completely lost in the metro stations yesterday, I decided to get my haircut. I was in desperate need of a trim!
Natalie, one one of the directors of the program I am in gave me the name of a place where she got her hair cut. It was in the Bastille area. I have been in that area so much recently.
I walked in and in the most broken french said, “je voudrais un coiffure, s’il vous plait” the receptionist just stared and me while one of the stylists came over and asked if I needed someone to speak english. So he motion for the only english speaking girl to come over and talk to me. I didn’t have an appointment but they could get me in right away.
I had no idea what I wanted, not even how long I wanted to keep it. My hair was so damaged I was thinking about cutting a good portion of it off.
The girl took one look at my hair and new exactly what to do with it!
anyway, as I am writing this all down I realize how boring this blog is. I am just excited to have a cute new Parisian haircut. This is the first time my hair has actually looked good since I have been here.
blah blah blah…. I’ll try to put a picture up of it.

Alyse;
For those of us in Oklahoma your blog is not boring at all. To imagine going to a French style shop is interesting. The interaction with the people is especially interesting. Did they seem to be glad to see you? How does the price compare to the US? Do you like your new hair do?
Also, try to avoid getting lost. Do you have any maps? Do you want me to send you a GPS?
Thanks for the new info.
Dad.

A second what dad said, everything you do in Paris takes on an exciting magical allure, describing the subtleties of your experiences in Paris is not only NOT boring, but it helps us experience the textures and nuances of your experience, not everything you write about has to be about over the top priceless art and wild adventures - telling us about a walk that you took through a certain district and the people you saw and the things they were doing is absolutely fascinating. Moreover, as time goes by you will be spellbound as you go back and read about your experiences from this summer abroad.
So - write write and write some more, who cares if some person some where thinks it is boring. The people who read and post on your blog regularly, ie your family, read this thing like it is a New York Times #1 best seller - Write with CONFIDENCE!

I think it’s great you’re in France, and it’s not boring at all! (And I’m a total stranger!)
Too bad no pics. I was “googling” french hair cuts, (in hopes of something cute to take to my stylist). What are the styles over there right now?
